Alabama BSA License Tag • November 9, 2009

Register now for an Alabama BSA License Tag !

Alabama BSA License tags will go on sale December 1st in each county license tag department.  In order to produce this special license tag, pre-sales must number at least 1,000 state-wide.

Individuals will complete a “Commitment to Purchase” form (obtained from the county license tag department) along with $50.00.  If 1,000 are not sold within one year, the $50.00 fee collected will be refunded to individuals. (BSA cannot provide these “Commitment to Purchase” forms to groups…it is a secure form that must be obtained from your local tag/license office).

The paperwork to commit to purchase a Boy Scout License Plate is easy and simple. Take your current tag receipt (Alabama Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle Registration Tag and Tax Receipt --- the one required by law to be in the vehicle) to your local tag office, tell them you would like to fill out the commitment form to purchase a Boy Scout tag.  They will fill out two forms.  On one form you will be asked to fill out your name and address. You will then be asked to sign both forms and pay the $50.00.  You will be given your receipt…….that’s it.

NOTE: Keep the original receipt you are given in a safe place as it will be needed to receive your tag when they are printed. The tag office cannot accept copies of the form.

DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE MONTH OF YOUR TAG RENEWAL, PLEASE SIGN-UP NOW.  Our goal is to have the tags issued during our 100th anniversary celebrations in early 2010.

All proceeds from the sale of these tags will be used to support Scouting.  For each tag sold, the local council will receive $41.25.  We encourage all Scouters and Scouting supporters to help promote the BSA and the values it represents through this outstanding opportunity.
