Cub Scout Leaders from Montgomery, Tallahassee, Dothan and cities all over Jackson and Calhoun counties recently attended Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation, (BALOO) training in order to learn how to plan successful Cub Scout pack camp outs. Eighteen leaders, representing ten Cub Scout units, spent an entire day in outdoor classes and hands on activities which included: planning, health and safety, camping equipment, camp fire planning, Cub Scout cooking, games and hikes and much more.

Muskoke District instructors for the event, Steve, Peggy and Stephen McCool, who are also members of Boy Scout Troop 33 of Marianna, expressed their gratitude to the many leaders who took an entire Saturday to attend the training and for those who drove many miles. Stated Peggy, "We provided this training not only for Scouters to gain the information and hands on experience; but, to also give them the opportunity to meet and interact with fellow leaders from around the area and to share ideas and experience with each other. We hope they came away with something positive and will take it back to use with their Cub Scout packs.
