Once a volunteer has a basic understanding of the BSA's values-based program, he or she should begin training for their specific Scouting position by taking Leader Specific Training. This training provides the specialized knowledge a new leader needs to assume their leadership role.

Developed for Venturing Advisors, assistant Advisors, and Crew Committee members, this training incorporates Venturing's current adult leader training. New Leader Essentials and Venturing Leader Specific Training can be completed in one day, after which the leader is considered to be trained.

Course Prerequisites:

• Be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America
• Completed Youth Protection training for Boy Scouts within the past 12 months.
